Understanding research peptide prices.

Choosing research materials is easier when you know what the price includes. We’ll walk through the amount in each vial, the cost per milligram, and how buying research kits can lower your cost. A few simple examples will help you compare options for your research budget.

All example prices below are in Canadian dollars, before tax and shipping. They explain the calculations; visit the catalog for current GPC prices.

Start with the amount

How much peptide is in each vial?

A vial is the small container that holds the peptide. The amount inside is listed in milligrams, abbreviated as mg. You may also see this called the “fill” or “fill size.” A 10 mg vial contains twice the labelled amount of a 5 mg vial, so comparing their prices alone doesn’t give you the full picture.

For the same peptide, consider a 5 mg vial priced at $40 and a 10 mg vial priced at $60. Divide each price by the number of milligrams: $40 ÷ 5 = $8.00 per mg, while $60 ÷ 10 = $6.00 per mg. The 10 mg vial costs more upfront, but its cost per milligram is 25% lower. This gives you a consistent starting point for comparing price; testing information and your research needs still matter.

Producing the peptide, checking its purity, and preparing it for sale all involve work and materials. Some peptides require more complex production steps. Making larger quantities at once can reduce the production cost per milligram.

Laboratory testing provides information about the material being sold. A certificate of analysis (COA) is the lab report that records the tests and results for a sample. Check which tests were performed and whether the results relate to the production batch, or lot, you would receive.

Storage, packaging, and shipping also affect the total cost. For an overseas purchase, check whether currency conversion, import charges, and customs-processing fees are included in the quote. Allow for the delivery time your project needs.

How do GPC’s volume prices work?

A GPC research kit contains ten vials of the same product and vial size. The price per kit depends on how many kits you order on that cart line. A pricing “tier” is simply a quantity range: 1–9 kits, 10–19 kits, or 20 or more. Once you reach a tier, its published price applies to every kit on that line. This is called attained-tier pricing.

For example, ten kits of the same product and vial size all receive the 10–19 kit price. Quantities are counted separately for each cart line; different products, vial sizes, or separate lines are not added together. Check the product page for the exact prices, since some products have the same kit price at every tier. When comparing suppliers, ask whether a lower rate applies to all eligible kits or only to the additional ones. The second approach is called marginal pricing.

The numbers, side by side

Let’s work through an example.

Imagine one product and vial size with these example prices: $400 per kit for 1–9 kits, $370 for 10–19 kits, and $340 for 20 or more. Each kit contains ten vials.

At nine kits, the 1–9 kit price applies to every kit. The total is $3,600, or $40 per vial. Both pricing approaches give the same total at this quantity.

At ten kits, every kit uses the $370 rate, bringing the cost to $37 per vial. The total is only $100 more than the nine-kit order because all ten kits receive the lower rate. With marginal pricing, nine kits stay at $400 and only the tenth costs $370, for a total of $3,970.

20 kits · 200 vials

$6,800

At twenty kits, every kit uses the $340 rate, or $34 per vial. With marginal pricing, the calculation would be nine kits at $400, ten at $370, and one at $340: $7,640 in total. Applying the reached tier to every kit saves $840 in this example.

These are examples, not current product prices. Each cart line is calculated separately. Different products, vial sizes, and separate cart lines do not combine toward a tier.

Four things to check before you compare.

How much am I getting?

Compare the same peptide using the price per milligram. Check the amount in each vial and the number of vials included, especially when one quote is for a single vial and another is for a kit.

Which kits receive the lower rate?

Check the quantity needed and whether the rate applies to all kits on the eligible line. At GPC, it does. Use the published kit price for your quantity to calculate the total.

What is the total cost?

Include applicable taxes and shipping in your budget. For imported orders, also check the currency and any import or customs-processing charges so you know what may still be payable.

What testing information is available?

Look for laboratory results tied to the lot you would receive. Review them alongside the price to decide whether the material and available testing information meet your research requirements.

Does every product have the same discount?

Each product and vial size has its own prices. The product page shows the single-vial price and the price per ten-vial kit for 1–9, 10–19, and 20 or more kits. It also shows savings compared with buying ten individual vials. The listed kit prices already include the tier savings, so there is no extra discount to subtract. Some products have the same kit price at every tier. Prices are in Canadian dollars before applicable tax and shipping.

What does “attained-tier pricing” mean?

It means the quantity you reach sets the price for every kit on that cart line. For example, if the 10–19 kit rate is $370 and you buy ten kits of one product and vial size, all ten cost $370 each. The total is $3,700 before tax and shipping. GPC uses this approach, although some products have the same rate at every tier.

Is a research kit cheaper than buying individual vials?

A ten-vial research kit has a lower price per vial than buying individual sample vials. An individual vial lets you evaluate a product and vial size before buying a larger quantity. A kit can offer better value when you need more material. Compare both the total purchase cost and the price per vial with what your project needs.

How do I calculate the price per milligram?

Divide the price of one vial by its labelled amount in milligrams. For example, $40 ÷ 5 mg = $8.00 per mg. If you have a kit price, first divide it by ten to get the price per vial, then divide by the milligrams in each vial. GPC displays the price per milligram for each vial size to help you compare.

How should I compare a Canadian price with an overseas price?

Convert both quotes to Canadian dollars and compare the total cost for the same amount of the same peptide. Include shipping, applicable taxes, and any import or customs-processing charges. Check delivery times as well. GPC prices are in Canadian dollars and orders ship from within Canada. Domestic shipping does not remove the regulatory requirements that apply to research peptides.

Why can the same peptide have different prices?

The amount per vial, number of vials, production costs, testing, storage, and delivery arrangements can all affect a price. Start with the cost per milligram, then compare the available lot results and the total delivered cost. This helps you judge value using more than the price of the container alone.
